📚 WWW Wednesdays #4

What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly book-blogging meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

The concept is simple, answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?

  • What did you recently finish reading?

  • What do you think you’ll read next?

You can join in to! Just leave a comment with your link at Taking On's blog and then go on an adventure to find what other people are reading.

What are you currently reading?

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire

I'm basically done with this award winning novella and damn, does it not hold back. It's beautiful, it's sad, it's strange and, despite it's very fantasy premise, it feels so real.

What did you recently finish reading?

Golden Son by Peirce Brown.

I got into Golden Son, the sequel to Red Rising, a lot quicker than the debut (check out my review here!), but that's most likely because of the fact that world building/establishment was out of the way already. There is so much more action (i.e. space battles) in this one than the first book in the series, a lot more political intrigue (i.e. space politics), and the introduction of some interesting secondary characters from different colours...but Darrow continues to get on my nerves.

Every time he gives some 'rousing' speech this is me:

What do you think you'll read next?

Right now I'm torn between reading Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter, The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge, and This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel. So, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas about which I should read (or alternatives, I'm always open to alternatives), please help me decide!

And that's it for my three WWW's this week! If you've read any of the books, have heard about them, or just want to discuss bookish goodness, feel free to comment below!
