📚 WWW Wednesdays #12

What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly book-blogging meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

The concept is simple, answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?

  • What did you recently finish reading?

  • What do you think you’ll read next?

You can join in to! Just leave a comment with your link at Taking On's blog and then go on an adventure to find what other people are reading.

What are you currently reading?

I am actually currently reading two books, The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee and When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. The former came in a past Owlcrate box and the latter I am buddy reading with a lovely fellow Bookstagrammer. Both are fun, on the romantic side, with a good dash of diversity mixed in. One, obviously, set in modern times and with a female Indian-American Protagonist, and the other set in 18th century Europe, with a queer English Lord as the main character, so they make for uniquely interesting reads.

What did you recently finish reading?

Warcross by Marie Lu. I've read two of Marie Lu's series before: Legend which kind of fell flat for me (to be fair, I only read the first, but i just did not feel compelled to keep reading) and The Young Elites, which I absolutely adored. So picking up Warcross was a gamble, but one that more than paid off. I loved it, from the very concept of a virtual reality MMO to the characters. Also that cover *swoons* So simple, clean, yet so wonderful.

What do you think you'll read next?

My next read is actually going to be a digital ARC (advanced reader's copy) I received in exchange for an honest review by the lovely people at Scholastic Middle East. Battle of the Beetles is the conclusion to the Middle Grade "Beetle "Trilogy by MG Leonard. I've read great things about the first two books in the series, so I am looking forward to reading the highly anticipated finale!

And that's it for my three WWW's this week! If you've read any of the books, have heard about them, or just want to discuss bookish goodness, feel free to comment below!
